The Trading Brain · live in our operations

An AI layer for
your trading operations.

Arbo Avi runs an AI brain across our own trading operations, connecting pricing, stock, orders, and compliance, and handling the routine work between them. We built it for ourselves, and now we deploy it for fellow arbo avi traders.

The reality

Trading runs on institutional knowledge, and it does not scale.

Pricing decisions, stock management, logistics coordination, compliance. All of it still depends on a small number of people, a dozen spreadsheets, and a full inbox.

Personal expertise
1 person = 1 bottleneck
Three structural problems that limit growth
01

Operational bottleneck

Every pricing decision, order update, and certificate request passes through the same small group. Volume grows, so does the queue. The team becomes the constraint.

02

Scalability ceiling

Growing the business requires adding headcount linearly. More countries, more suppliers, more volume multiplies the operational load. Cost grows at the same rate as revenue.

03

Knowledge risk

Critical intelligence lives in people's heads, not systems. One person knows the pricing logic, one the supplier history, one the freight. When they're unavailable, operations slow or stop.

Operations · The solution

A Trading Brain. An intelligent layer across your operations.

An AI-powered system that sits across your existing operations. It does not replace your systems. It connects them and automates the routine work between them.

On-premise deployment
Deployed on your own infrastructure. Your data stays in your environment, with full privacy and no third-party exposure.
Open-source AI models
Runs on open-source models hosted locally. No vendor lock-in, no per-query cloud costs, no dependency on external APIs.
Integrates with your existing tools
Connects to ERP systems, Microsoft Teams, Slack, email, and other tools your team already uses. No new interface to learn.

Operations in production

Where the brain already runs.

Not hypothetical workflows. These run in production at Arbo Avi today, each one replacing a manual process that consumed hours per week.

Pilot program open
Onboarding 3 partner traders this quarter, open to teams of any size running commodity or arbo avi operations.
Pricing & Order Tracking
Before

A country manager needs pricing for 5 containers of OSB. Emails the trading team. Team checks the frame agreement, calculates freight, and replies after hours of back-and-forth. Purchase order drafted separately, manually.

After

Manager asks the brain via Teams. It returns the landed cost, lead time, and freight estimate in seconds, grounded in the current frame agreement and real freight data. Confirm, and the purchase order is drafted and sent automatically.

Hours of back-and-forth → seconds.

Stock Reporting & Demand Planning
Before

Each country manager maintains their own view of inventory and demand in spreadsheets. The head office consolidates data manually every month — chasing updates, reconciling conflicting numbers, and calculating stock coverage by product and region. Committed volumes are gathered via email chains spanning multiple countries.

After

The brain aggregates all data, calculates coverage days per country per product, flags issues, and generates a report. Automated outreach collects committed volumes; one-click approval sends tailored guidance to each country.

Month-long process → automated cycle.

Allocation & Fulfilment
Before

When supply is constrained, the team manually decides which customers get priority. Decisions happen in email threads between country managers. The process is slow and opaque to the team.

After

The brain proposes a split weighted by margin, retention, and urgency, with the reasoning shown. Country managers approve or adjust in one click. Allocation becomes transparent, defensible, and auditable.

Fewer disputes. Better margin. Retention kept happy.

Carrier & Logistics
Before

Every shipment needs 3–4 freight quotes chased by email, compared in a spreadsheet. Decisions stuck waiting on carrier responses. Booking happens across separate systems.

After

Quotes collected automatically from approved carriers. The brain ranks options on landed cost, recommends the best one, and drafts the booking. A process that took days resolves in minutes.

Freight at the speed of the trade, not the inbox.

AI agents

How the Trading Brain works in practice.

Two modes. A chat interface grounded in your real data, and an agent that runs quietly in the background, escalating only when a human decision is genuinely needed.

1. Chat interface

Ask questions. Get answers from your own data.

Your teams interact through the tools they already use: Microsoft Teams, Slack, or email. Ask a question, get an answer grounded in real data: product pricing, stock positions, order status, supplier terms. No training needed.

What's our current stock position for 22x100 boards in Germany?
Brain
Current stock across 3 warehouses. Hamburg: 420m³ (12 wks) · Munich: 185m³ (6 wks, below target) · Berlin: 310m³ (9 wks).
Munich is running low. Shall I trigger a replenishment order from X Sawmill?
Yes, standard order.
Replenishment PO drafted: 200m³ 22x100, delivery week 12. Sent to X Sawmill for confirmation. ✓

Hours of back-and-forth → seconds.

2. Task automation

The brain works proactively in the background.

Without being asked, it monitors your operations and acts on what it finds, escalating to your team only when a human decision is genuinely needed.

Monitor
Tracks stock, prices, shipments, and demand across all data sources.
Detect
Identifies overstock, understock, price changes, missed volumes, anomalies.
Act
Sends follow-ups, generates reports, drafts communications, triggers workflows.
Escalate
Notifies the right person only when a human decision is required.

Deep diveCompliance automation · ISPM15

Automated end-to-end. A real pipeline.

ISPM15 phytosanitary certificates are required for most cross-border arbo avi shipments. High volume, rule-based, and a strong fit for end-to-end automation. This pipeline runs in production today.

Reads certificates directly from supplier PDFs, with no manual transcription and no templates.

Validation rules check treatment type, certificate number, issuing country, and expiry. Exceptions are flagged for human review only.

Certificates auto-linked to the relevant purchase order and archived with full shipment documentation.

Buyers notified automatically. Record is audit-ready from the moment it is processed.
